Originally Lawnees Tree Farm and designed by Bill Newis, Cottonwood opened its gates on July 1, 1990. Since such time, we have hosted many local, charity and national events. Lyle Edwards, owner, places Cottonwood high on his accomplished list. Our members consider Cottonwood their "Home Away From Home". The culture and atmosphere of the Club is one of encouragement and commitment.

In the fall of 2006, Lyle and his team took on the challenge of a 1.5 million dollar renovation, with the help of the Puddicombe Family, "The New Wood", was brought to life. Replacement of all 18 greens to A4 bent grass, complete reworking of the irrigation system, as well as an additional 9 tees, 9 bunkers and yardage to our championship tees, pushing it just under 7,000 yards par 71. A true championship yardage, 5 sets of teeing areas allow for an enjoyable game for all caliber of golfers. This walkable 18 hole facility nestled in the Bow Valley offers a quiet, picturesque challenge and an enjoyable experience.

In past seasons we have played host to the RCGA National Senior Ladies Championship, the Alberta PGA Assistants Championship, as well as the Bank of Montreal Women's Series. In 2008, Cottonwood was the host site of the ATB Financial Classic, the Canadian Tour Stop.

Involvement in charities and charitable events are a mandate to both Lyle Edwards, and Tiffany Gordon, General Manager. Cottonwood continues to pursue a role in the community. With involvement in numerous groups, charities, and foundations. We strive to play a role and always give back to our community.
