Born in Calgary and raised in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Gregg's passion for the game of golf was evident early on. Whether it was following his dad to the 9 hole golf course at Elk Island National Park or beating the ball around in the park behind his house, golf always seemed to have a hold on Gregg. By the age of 12, Gregg was a junior member of the Broadmoor Golf Club in Sherwood Park and it was here that he honed his golf skills and love for the game under the tutelage of Head Golf Professionals Ken Matson and Ron Belbin. Broadmoor was a very special place to be junior member as it is evident in the fact that more than 20+ members of the CPGA grew up through the junior ranks on the links at this golf course in the center of Sherwood Park.

In the summer of 1991, with the encouragement and support of Ron Belbin, Gregg made his formal application to the CPGA and passed the PAT on his first try. Through the next 15 plus years Gregg has worked at a number of top golf facilities in Alberta and gained valuable knowledge and experiences from his fellow golf professionals along the way. Since the start of 2004, Gregg has been employed at the Cottonwood Golf & Country Club as the Head Golf Professional. Gregg works closely with Tiffany Gordon, CPGA Executive Professional, and the rest of the Cottonwood management team to help Cottonwood G&CC become a leader in the local, provincial and national golf scene.

Gregg's involvement in the CPGA and PGA of Alberta is evident from the very early years of his membership in the CPGA. In the spring of 1993 Gregg was elected to the Assistants' Board of Directors. Gregg served in various roles on the Assistants' Board, the most significant being serving as President from 1996 to 2000. Gregg has also served on the committee of the PGA of Alberta Consumer Show in its early years and is still involved as a volunteer. Most recently, Gregg served on the Membership and Employment committee for the past season. Some of Gregg's other involvements include serving on the Edmonton Golf Association Board of Directors and the Calgary Men's Interclub Board of Directors.

Being a well rounded and educated golf professional has always been an important part that Gregg has never overlooked in his development. Gregg graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1993 with a Business Management Diploma and has always found education to be very important part of developing into the golf professional he is today. Gregg is a certified custom golf club fitter, attending seminars yearly from Ping, Callaway and Taylor Made. Gregg also successfully completed and passed the RCGA Rules of Golf Level 1 exam. Gregg has also been an active participant in the PGA of Alberta's annual Education seminars held every spring.

Gregg was very honoured and proud of being recognized by his peers by being twice awarded the PGA of Alberta Apprentice Golf Professional of the Year in 1996 and 1998. In the spring of 2007, Gregg was elected to the PGA of Alberta Board of Directors and he looks forward to helping the PGA of Alberta become a proud partner with the CPGA and a leader in the golf industry.

Gregg lives in Calgary with his wife, Nicole and two great kids, Nolan and Taylor.
