The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is the only major junior golf tour in Canada run exclusively by Golf Professionals and is endorsed by PGA Tour veterans Dave Barr and Ray Stewart. The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, formerly the Western Canada Junior Golf Tour, expanded from an original base in British Columbia in 1999 to include the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and now Quebec and the Maritimes.
The MJT is proud to play a role in developing young players, including several Canadian National Junior Champions such as Kevin Klebe, Mike Mezei, Darren Wallace (Cdn Men's Amateur), Mitchell Fox, Eom-Ji Park, and Inah Park, and many Future Links and Provincial Junior Champions. In addition to building resumes which help secure golf scholarships, there are many other benefits to membership such as learning sportsmanship and etiquette, meeting new people and having fun. The PGA of Alberta continues to support the growing initiatives of the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour in the continued development and promotion of competitive golf at the junior level. Player Development in Alberta continues to grow with the extensive work of professional coaches and volunteers directors. One of the main focuses for Player Development is to offer something to assist all levels of golfers throughout Alberta.
This is why the AGA offers golf program assistance at the school level, junior camps for aspiring golfers throughout the province, short game clinics for mid range handicap levels and elite camps for the top competitors in Alberta.

SUN JUNIOR GOLF TOUR
The 2008 season will be the thirteenth for the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour. The Tour is organized through the offices of Parcom Marketing Inc. in Edmonton, and they seek to:
-Provide Junior golfers in Alberta the opportunity to develop their golf games in a series of coordinated tournaments throughout Alberta in a fun, but competitive environment.
- -To make the tournaments challenging for the elite level Junior golfer, but also to provide young players just starting out their first exposure to well organized tournament competition.
- -To give back to the development of Junior Golf in Alberta by assisting host courses with funding for their Junior development programs.
- -To fund scholarships in the Tour's name to the Alberta Golf Scholarship Foundation to assist worthy young Albertans in furthering their post secondary education.
