Awards Nomination Form
The ultimate goal of the Awards Program is to recognise the accomplishments of many Members and Industry Representatives through a nomination process. This year we would like to encourage you to become a part of our Awards Program by nominating an individual that you feel is deserving of an Award.
Each year the PGA of Alberta recognizes several Members and Industry Representatives for their achievements throughout the season and their career, as well as for their contributions to the Association and the Game of Golf. These achievements are recognized through the PGA of Alberta Awards Program at our annual Awards Banquet, as well as on a National scale.
The importance of the Awards Program, on both a Provincial and National scale, is something the Association does not take lightly. Under the guidance of the Awards Committee, the program has evolved over the years and we believe that by placing a strong focus on the Nomination Process it will ensure that as many deserving individuals as possible are being recognized. In the past fourteen years we have had the honour as an Association of recognizing twenty-one Provincial winners go on to win at a National level, eleven of which were Murray Tucker Golf Professional of the Year recipients.
As we continue to try and improve the process to identify nominees, more emphasis is placed on the individual nominees to put their best foot forward in their ‘application’ bio. Below is a brief description of our current Awards Process.
- Once a Member submits their nomination for an individual Member, this Member is contacted and asked to complete a very detailed application form based on the criteria for the particular award for which they have been nominated.
- The application forms are collected and presented to each of the Award Subcommittees (comprised of past Award recipients).
- Each Subcommittee Member reviews a number of applications and evaluates them with a ranking system.
- The nominees who receive the highest average rank based on the Subcommittee rankings are considered finalists.
The finalists and application forms are forwarded to the PGA of Alberta Selection Committee Members (past Club Professional of the Year Winners) who then submit confidential votes based on a point system. The Award recipient for each category is the Member who receives the most total accumulated points from the Selection Committee.
On September 30th, the top five Nominees who have completed the Application Form and ranked the highest in their respective Award categories, as voted on by the PGA of Alberta Award Selection Committee, will be advertised on the PGA of Alberta as Finalists, from which one will be selected as the Award Winner.
Please Note: Once a Member wins an award Nationally, they are ineligible to win again Provincially in the same category.
Nominations are now closed.
Thank you for taking the time to nominate a member or industry representative.
