Players are gearing up for the final Players’ Tour event of the year at RedTail Landing GC. The event, which is sponsored by Callaway Golf, Flightscope and Jancor Agencies will be taking place on August 4th and 5th. Players will begin play at 12:00pm for round one and 8:00am for round two. Five Advance to Shaw Charity Classic Event Qualifier
The Hamptons GC saw 16 participants trying to qualify for the Shaw Charity Classic today. However, only five have earned a spot in the Event Qualifier being held on Tuesday, August 4th at Canyon Meadows G&CC. To view those who have advanced to the next qualifier, click here.

The fourth Playing Ability Test of 2015 will be taking place at RedTail Landing GC on August 4 & 5 following the Players’ Tour event. 20 players will attempt to pass the PAT with tee-times beginning at 3:20pm on day one and 11:20am on day two. For the complete draw click here.

TWICE IS NICE FOR WHITECOTTON
Keith Whitecotton (The Quarry GC) won his second Golf Supply House Professional Series Event of the season with a 3-under 69. Weston Gillett (Drayton Valley GC) finished a close second at 2-under 70. GLENDALE WINS PRO-LADY NORTH
Greg McGarry (Glendale G&CC) with partner Tammy Oberik shot a 7-under 65 to capture the EFW Radiology Pro-Lady North hosted by Cougar Creek GR. McGarry and Oberik edged out 4 other teams by 1 stroke to win. Click here for all the results.

EFW Radiology Pro-Lady North
The draw is now posted for the EFW Radiology Pro-Lady North event taking place on Monday, July 27th at the Cougar Creek GR with a 9am shotgun start. Forty-two teams will compete for the title and an $11,500 purse. Click here to see the current field and draw.

Justin Comes From Behind to Win Assistants' Championship
Facing tougher conditions than in round one, players battle through the rain and wind to keep scores as low as possible for round two. Justin Stoski (Paradise Canyon GR) began the day at 1-over par and played a fantastic round finishing 1-under for a two day total 142, good enough to win the 2015 Assistants’ Championship sponsored by Cobra Puma Golf. Justin earns himself a $3,300 cheque for the win. Other notable performances were Thomas Schupp (Eaglequest Golf Dome) and Eric Locke both finishing with a respectable 1-over par 143 and winning $1,925 in prize money. Murray Walter finished alone in 4th place with a two day total 144 winning $1,430. Rounding out the top 5 was David MacComb (Blackhawk GC) ending with a solid 145 two day total earning him $1,300. Eric Picked the Lock at Jagare Ridge GC
Round one is now concluded for the 25th Cobra Puma Golf Assistants’ Championship. Hosted at the Jagare Ridge GC in Edmonton, Alberta, players were excited to test themselves against the top Assistant Professionals in the province. Separating himself from the field was Eric Locke (Wolf Creek GR) after scoring a 3-under 68 for day one. Right behind Locke at even par 71 sit the likes of Murray Walter (Redwood Meadows G&CC), Thomas Schupp (Eaglequest Golf Dome), Scott Borsa (Red Deer G&CC) and Jacques Plouffe (Blackhawk GC). Round two tee times pick back up at 7:30am tomorrow with the final group of Locke, Walter, and Plouffe teeing off at 11:10am. Click here for full round one results and round two tee times.

PGA on Wheels Sees Over 800 Kids at Jumpstart Games
The PGA on Wheels headed to the Subway Soccer Centre in Calgary on July 16th for the Jumpstart Games where over 800 kids took part in various golf activities throughout the day. Thank you to every PGA of Alberta member that volunteered their time to support the PGA on Wheels program and provide hundreds of kids with one-on-one lessons. The PGA on Wheels has now finished a successful 2015 campaign after being a part of four different events over the summer. The program will kick back up in 2016 where PGA of Alberta Professionals will continue to introduce golf to children of all ages. Click here to view a short video from the Jumpstart Games.

Jenkinson Needed Two Extra Holes to Win
Day two of the Callaway Players’ Tour presented by SkyCaddie & FlightScope hosted by Goose Hummock GR saw 35 of the top players from the PGA of Alberta compete for $9,300.00 under near perfect conditions again. Garett Jenkinson (Golf Performance Canada at Inglewood) won in a 3-way playoff between Eric Locke (Wolf Creek GR) & Jamie Kureluk (GolfTec Calgary). All three players finished with a two day total of 3-under 139 with Kureluk firing a new course record 6-under 65. Click here for full tournament results.

Locke Has the Key in the Door
The PGA of Alberta headed back to Goose Hummock GR for the third leg of the Callaway Golf Players’ Tour sponsored by FlightScope and SkyCaddie. Eric Locke (Wolf Creek GR) was the low pro of the day shooting a 1-under 70 to lead the field. Not far behind Locke is the usual suspects of Garett Jenkinson (Golf Performance Canada at Inglewood) and Kent Fukushima both shooting identical 35-36 for an even par 71. Glencoe G&CC, Paradise Canyon GR and Sean Thompson come out on top
The Glencoe G&CC team of Dale Machesney and Brendan MacDougall shot a team gross score of 65 to capture the title of Low Gross Team while the Paradise Canyon GR team of Justin Stoski and Ethan Campbell shot a net 63 to win the low net side. Sean Thompson (Calgary G&CC) shot a 3-under 69 to finish low pro at the 2015 Callaway Golf Pro-Junior South.

Highlands GC wins Pro-Senior in Playoff
The team that hails from Highlands GC in Edmonton took the 2015 PGA of Alberta Pro-Senior event sponsored by Greg Norman and Golf Trends Inc. Joey Sereda and partner John Gallimore shot a team net best ball score of 64 and beat out Quinn Powell and partner Boes Winkel from McKenzie Meadows GC in the first playoff hole to secure the victory. Joey received an ovation from his peers in the clubhouse after the win in which he responded “Thanks for sticking around guys”. Winning the Individual Professional side was Quinn Powell shooting a 4-under 68 to win by 3 strokes. For full tournament results, please click here.

The Players’ Tour Heads to Goose Hummock GR
The third of four Players’ Tour events is scheduled to take place on July 14 & 15 at Goose Hummock GR. 36 players will battle for a purse size of $9,400 at the two day stroke play event as well as points towards the year-end Tour Championship. NIKE GOLF PGA OF CANADA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The PGA of Alberta qualifier for the Nike Golf PGA Team Championship of Canada saw 26 teams vying for 7 spots to represent the province at the Canadian Championship to be played later this fall. Dallas Cantera (Cardiff G&CC) shot a 31 on the front nine on his way to a 5-under 66 at Highlands GC to capture the Golf Supply House Professional Series Event.
