Team Match Play Championship Update

EFW Radiology Pro-Lady North Presented by Pixel Army
Goose Hummock GR in Gibbons, Alberta is set to host the second Pro-Am event of 2017 being the Pro-Lady North sponsored by EFW Radiology and Pixel Army. The event will feature 27 of Alberta’s finest Professionals paired with an amateur from their respective facility. The shotgun will begin at 9am on Tuesday, June 27th. Click here to view the draw.

Draw Posted for the Spring Playing Ability Test at the Woodside GC.
The draw has been posted for the second Playing Ability Test of the season, hosted by Woodside GC on Wednesday, June 28th and Thursday, June 29th. Tee times begin at 12:18pm on June 28 and 11:10am on June 29.

Draw for the Players' Tour at Woodside GC
The draw is posted for the second PGA of Alberta Players' Tour event presented by Jancor Agencies. The new format to the Players’ Tour series will now see the Association’s most competitive players going head-to-head including the top players on last year’s Order of Merit. The tournament is being hosted by Woodside GC on June 28th & 29th. Tee Times begin at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 28th and 9:00am on Thursday, June 29th. Purse is set at $8,000. KIRKNESS WINS AT PRIDDIS GREENS G&CC
Samuel Kirkness (Priddis Greens G&CC) shot a 1-over 73 at his home course to win his first Alberta PGA event. Phil McCluskey (Dinosaur Trail G&CC), Jason Stanier (Inglewood G&CC) and host Executive Professional Chad Thomlinson (Priddis Greens G&CC) all finished in second 1 shot behind Kirkness. PGA on Wheels – Sport Calgary All Sport One Day
The PGA on Wheels attended the Sport Calgary All Sport One Day event on Saturday, June 17th which saw many young golfers throughout the day participating in various golfing activities. Thank you for the support we received from John Deneer, Brady Karlson, Sean Murray and Sean Thompson who all volunteered their time to give instruction at the event. Thank you as well to Alberta Golf for attending and the continued support of the PGA on Wheels program. Professional Series Heads to Priddis, Alberta

BARROS WINS BACK-TO-BACK
Kylie Barros (Glendale G&CC) shot an impressive round of 75 on day 2 to help her capture the Ladies' Championship sponsored by Dexim Golfwear. Kurtis Takes the Win at Carstairs GC
Players today at Carstairs GC saw sunny skies but windy conditions making for a tougher than expected round on the course. Bringing his "A" game, Kurtis Foote (Woodside GC) took advantage of the conditions by making 6 birdies and 1 eagle to win the second Golf Supply House Professional Series of the season with a 4-under 68. “I played well today. Hit the ball well and putted really good”, Kurtis remarked after the round. Falling two back of Kurtis finishing in second was Dale Tomlinson (The Winston GC). Being the former Head Professional at Carstairs GC, Dale used his knowledge of the course to card a 2-under 70. Sitting one back of Dale in third was PGA of Alberta newcomer Dillon Batsel (Connaught GC), firing a 1-under 71. Click here to view full tournament results.

Ladies' Championship hosted by Earl Grey GC
Seven of Alberta’s finest Professional Ladies will take to Earl Grey GC for the annual Ladies’ Championship, sponsored by Dexim Golfwear. The 2016 Champion, Kylie Barros (Glendale G&CC), will be eager to defend her crown on June 13th and 14th after winning her first Ladies’ Championship last year. MURRAY WALTER AND KEVIN BLACK END THE DAY WITH A VICTORY!
Murray Walter (Redwood Meadows G&CC) and Kevin Black (Redwood Meadows G&CC) capture the second annual Golf Supply House Pro-Pro Scramble hosted by Coyote Creek G&RV Resort. Walter and Black blistered the course shooting a 12-under 59. Dustin Risdon and Darryl James (National Golf Academy @ McCall Lake) finished tied for second with Blaine Kruger and Blair McDowell at 11-under 60. Click here for all the results.

Dan McIntosh hoping for success in long-drive world
Dan ‘Smackintosh’ McIntosh, Candidate For Membership at River’s Edge GC, will often set up at corporate tournaments or other on-course shindigs, where the local long-drive competitor charges about five bucks per player to crush a golf ball on your behalf. “It’s a way for me to get a paid practice,” said McIntosh, who was raised in High River and just made the move to the Calgary suburbs. “And there’s pressure, too, because somebody has paid me to hit a good drive for them. Jason Stanier (Inglewood G&CC) and Gerry MacDonald needed 2 extra playoff holes over Dave Henzie (Nanton GC) and Matt Nienaber to win the 2017 Tournament of Champions sponsored by Callaway Golf and hosted by RedTail Landing GC.
