11 October, 2024

CALGARY—One of the nation’s most accomplished golf instructors, Derek Ingram, will highlight the final day of the highly-anticipated 2024 PGA of Alberta Buying Show, October 24 in Calgary, during “A Conversation with one of Canada’s Top Coaches” presented by PING Canada.

A three-time Olympic golf coach, Ingram will bring PGA of Alberta members behind the scenes of him working with many of Canada’s top players on the PGA TOUR including Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith, representing Team Canada at the 2024, 2020 and 2016 Games as coach of the men’s golf team, while also sharing his coaching philosophy during the Q&A session hosted by Todd Halpen (Golf Future).

“Derek is an extraordinary talent who is an articulate, engaging and motivational presenter. We are grateful to our generous partner, PING Canada, for providing our members the opportunity to learn from the knowledge and experiences Derek has acquired throughout his impressive career,” said Robert Rousselle, executive director, PGA of Alberta. “Derek’s presence brings our annual Buying Show to a new level. I hope our membership will gain inspiration from this opportunity, while taking valuable information back with them on their continued journey to achieve personal excellence and growing their respective business.”

A three-time recipient of the PGA of Canada’s Ben Kern Coach of the Year Award (2020, 2007 and 2003), the Winnipegger has been involved in Golf Canada’s high-performance program for over 15 years. He served five years as Men’s Assistant Coach for Team Canada prior to being named women’s head coach at the end of 2009. In 2012 Ingram moved into the role of men’s head coach, where he currently oversees the amateur and young professional squads.

A seven-time winner of the Manitoba PGA Teacher of the Year Award and three-time winner of the Manitoba PGA Coach of the Year Award, Ingram has been selected as one of the top 10 coaches in Canada by the National Post, Golf Digest and Golf Magazine, and a Top 50 Teacher in North America by Golf Range Magazine.

Ingram also competed on the Canadian Tour for two years and was twice named Manitoba PGA Player of the Year Award (2008 and 2003).
