From horse-play to course-play — that’s the history of D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club. D’Arcy Ranch was once the site of a racetrack and quarter-horse operation, and the late Jerry D’Arcy — the founder of the course — is a past president of the Calgary Stampede. “It’s 15 minutes south of Calgary now, but you pull in, and you don’t hear cars buzzing around. You really don’t hear anything,” said longtime Head Professional Tim Watt. “You have the mountains in the backdrop. It’s quiet. It’s scenic.
