Alberta Golf Offering $1,000 Grants to PGA Members Running Golf Camps

22 June, 2020

Alberta Golf is now accepting applications for Provincial Grants to financially assist coaches/instructors running golf camps in their local areas. This is a new initiative and it is Alberta Golf’s hope that they will be able to support programming all across the province, at all ages and genders. They are offering 20 grants of $1,000 each.

Strict minimum requirements must be met for coaches and programming:

  1. The coach/instructor must be a PGA of Alberta member, in good standing
  2. The coach/instructor must be affiliated with a member club of Alberta Golf, in good standing.
  3. Camp proposal must be submitted for approval by July 15th, 2020
  4. Camps must be a minimum of 2 days in length
  5. Names and contact info of participants must be shared with Alberta Golf
  6. Player survey must be sent to all players once the camp is complete
  7. Final report must be submitted within 7 days of the final camp day

Coaches/instructors who are successful in receiving a grant will be included in an online list of Alberta Golf Endorsed Programs and will therefore be a main contact point for players or families who contact the association looking for guidance in their geographical area. The use of funds is at the discretion of the professional however they can be used for F&B, equipment, professional fees, etc.

Coaches who are successful in receiving a grant and fulfill all of the required steps to a satisfactory level, will be eligible to represent the province as a Provincial Coach by attending a National Championship or other Team Event. National Championship/Team Event assignments will be determined on a year-by-year basis, through a separate application process.
