AJ McCoy and Matthew Cook along with Rhonda Carter and Kim Valleau Win Kailani Pro-Pro Scramble Titles

22 June, 2026

RED DEER, Alta.Calgarians AJ McCoy and Matthew Cook took top team honours in the men’s division of the Kailani Pro-Pro Scramble event at Alberta Springs Golf Resort while Rhonda Carter and Kim Valleau were crowned queens of the Ladies’ division.

McCoy (Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club) and Cook (Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club)

edged out two professional tandems of Jaxon Lynn (Alberta Springs Golf Resort) and Logan Hill (River Bend Golf and Recreation Area), and a Lynx Ridge Golf Club duo of Kaleb Gorbahn and Matthew Kirlin, by one shot with a score of 58 (-14).

The 98 teams battled through cold, wet and windy conditions, but the sizzling Calgary duo were unfazed by the challenge.

“We just kept it super relaxed, chatting and telling stories all day,” said McCoy who also won the Players Tour 1-Day event last week at Redwood Meadows Golf Club. “Matt’s seen the course a bit, so I just hit the lines he told me to hit and he bombed a few putts. Typical scramble golf today.”

A Calgary team of Rhonda Carter (Golf Fanatics) and Kim Valleau (The Winston Golf Club) took the Ladies’ division title by one shot after joining forces for a round of 73. Kendra Jones-Munk (Golf Fanatics) and Nicola Jeffries (Willow Park Golf and Country Club) fired a 74 to finish in second place.

“I started off a little bit slower and AJ was hot,” said Cook. “We ham and egged it all the way through. The course was a bit wet, but we used that to our advantage.”
