Important Tournament Updates/Reminders

With the start of the 2021 season less than a week away, we wanted to send some important updates and reminders to all members to ensure everyone is prepared heading into their first event! Please see the important updates below:

Mobile Scoring – Download the Golf Genius App Today

This season we will be utilizing mobile scoring through the Golf Genius software to avoid exchanging scorecards.

  • Players will be emailed the necessary information in advance of the event and use their phone to score for one of their playing partners.
  • NO physical scorecards will be given at events.

Team Match Play Championship – May 12th @ Sturgeon Valley G&CC
The opening seeding rounds have been brought back for the Team Match Play Championship this season. The format for the seeding round will be team best ball to determine team’s positions for the North and South brackets.

There are currently 4 spots open for the North bracket (South bracket currently full). If interested in playing, CLICK HERE to register.


COVID-19 Tournament Guide
After careful consideration for all parties involved in our tournament program, we have updated the COVID-19 Tournament Guide for this season in response to updated Government regulations that ALL players must adhere to at events.

The Guide covers the following important rules for the tournament season: arrival time, mobile scoring, caddies/spectators, starting formats, flagsticks, carts, meals, prize presentations, and more.

Please note that as we receive new updates from the Government pertaining to the golf industry, we will continue to make revisions to this document to reflect the current acceptable guidelines.

2021 Withdrawal Policy Reminder
The Withdrawal Policy this season is noted below. Please refer to the Payment/Withdrawal/Registration Deadlines on the tournament page of the website for each specific event.

  • Withdrawal up to 28-days prior to event date, before Payment Deadline = 100% Refund
  • Withdrawal after Payment Deadline but 14-days prior to event date = $50 Administration Charge
  • Withdrawal less than 14-days prior to event date but before Registration Deadline = 50% Refund of Entry Fee
  • Withdrawal after draw is posted, after Registration Deadline = No Refund

Tournament Waiting Period for Play Ability Test Exemptions 
Any Member that receives a Play Ability Test (PAT) Exemption from the PGA of Canada will have a 60-day waiting period before they will be eligible to play in PGA of Alberta sanctioned Tournaments. The 60-day waiting period begins when the Member who receives the PAT Exemption becomes an official Member of the PGA of Canada and the Zone office is notified.

If any Member who receives a PAT Exemption wants to play in PGA of Alberta sanctioned Tournaments prior to when the 60-day period ends, they will be eligible to play in one of the Zones PAT’s. Once they successful pass the PAT, the waiting period will be waived and they will be eligible to play in PGA of Alberta sanctioned Tournaments after submitting the Tournament Eligibility Form online and meeting the eligibility requirements.

The 60-day waiting period will be waived for all LPGA Members that receive a PAT exemption from the PGA of Canada and become a Member.


How to Withdraw from an Event Online

  1. Login to the website
  2. Go to "My Registrations" under "My Account" or "Manage Account"
  3. Click "Manage" beside the event you would like to withdraw from
  4. Click withdraw on page and follow steps

How to Update Billing Profile/Credit Card Information on the Website

  1. Login to the website
  2. Go to your ‘Billing Profile’ under ‘My Account’ or ‘Manage Account’
  3. To add a new card, click ‘Add Billing Profile’ at the bottom right and follow steps
  4. To remove cards, click ‘Edit’ beside the card you want to remove and then click ‘Delete’ at the bottom of the page.
  5. To update your new card for each tournament payment processing date, go to “My Registrations” on the website
  6. Go to “Manage” beside each tournament your registered for
  7. Click the new credit card you entered for payment and press save (you do not need to process payment if tournament is beyond 28 days out)

How to Enter your Partner’s Name on the Website

  1. Login to the website
  2. Go to "My Registrations" under "My Account" or “Manage Account”
  3. Click "Manage" beside the event you want to update your partner’s name
  4. For Pro-Pro Events - Scroll down and select your partner from the drop down list “Select Partner Name (Eligible Member)”
  5. For Pro-Am EventsScroll down and enter your partners name under “Enter Partner Name (Non-Member)” and valid Golf Canada index under “Partner Handicap”
  6. Look up their Index by CLICKING HERE to ensure their valid Golf Canada is accurate and their name is spelled correctly
  7. Click “Register Partner” once completed
