Ethan Banks is proud to be completing his PGA of Canada apprenticeship at Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club in Canmore, Alberta. He has been immersed in the game from an early age, developing both a competitive drive and a deep appreciation for the traditions and community that golf provides. His journey began at just five years old, when he and his best friend would hit plastic golf balls across their street into tree wells, imagining they were real golf holes. One day, former Hamptons Golf Club General Manager Bill Singh happened to drive by and noticed the two young golfers. After watching them hit shots, he knocked on Ethan’s door and offered him a sponsored junior membership for the following season. Joining Hamptons Golf Club in 2006—where he remains a member today—proved to be a life-changing opportunity. The countless hours spent practicing, competing, and working at the club shaped both his game and his character, and ultimately ignited his passion for pursuing golf as a career. Following high school, Ethan attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he trained and competed year-round while continuing his academic studies. During this time, he competed as an amateur on the West Florida Golf Tour, gaining valuable experience alongside accomplished professionals, including PGA Tour winner Daniel Chopra and former PGA Tour player Michael Visacki. After receiving multiple collegiate opportunities in the United States, Ethan chose to return home to attend the University of Calgary, where he competed for the Dinos Men’s Golf Team. He served as team captain for three seasons and was part of the team that medalled in the 2021 Canada West Championship. Individually, he captured the 2021 Canada West Championship, 2021 Battle at the Bear presented by UBC Okanagan, and was nominated for the University of Calgary Male Athlete of the Year, ultimately receiving an Award of Merit for his achievements and leadership. Today, Ethan continues to compete while developing his career as a golf professional at Stewart Creek. He is passionate about helping others improve, sharing his knowledge of the game, and contributing to a welcoming and high-performance golf environment. He is committed to growing the game and providing meaningful experiences for every golfer he works with.
