Brother Duo Michael and Andrew Harrison Team Up to Claim Callaway Pro-Assistant Title Presented by The Cart Locker

RED DEER, Alta. — Winning a PGA of Alberta event is special. Winning one alongside your brother is something Michael and Andrew Harrison will never forget.
The Edmonton-based brothers teamed up to capture the PGA of Alberta’s Callaway Pro-Assistant title presented by The Cart Locker on Wednesday afternoon at River Bend Golf and Recreation Area.
Representing Coal Creek Golf Resort, the Harrison duo posted a 22-under-par total over the 36-hole event to secure a two-shot victory in a competitive 60-team field.
“Really enjoyed these last couple of days at River Bend,” said Michael Harrison. “Thanks to Phil and the team here at River Bend for hosting us. We really enjoyed the golf course. We had really good teamwork all week. If one of us had a tough hole, the other picked it up.”
After completing the opening 18-hole spin in the tournament with a three-shot lead, the brothers held off the defending champions, Sam Kirkness and Ryan Caines of Inglewood Golf and Curling Club, in the back half of the two-day event. The Calgary duo finished second at 19-under-par.
The unique two-day format featured six holes of best ball, six holes of scotch ball and six holes of scramble in each round, putting teamwork to the test throughout the event.
For Andrew Harrison, sharing the victory with his brother made the event even more meaningful.
“For us, it’s pretty special. Winning a title is pretty special,” said Andrew Harrison. “I’m proud to do it with my brother and happy to be able to win the Pro-Assistant together.”
The tight race for the top of the leaderboard continued behind the champions, with Matthew Kirlin and Kaleb Gorbahn of Lynx Ridge Golf Club finishing in a tie at 18-under-par alongside three other teams: Craig McArthur and Matt Freeman of Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club; Dallas Cantera and Jeremy Lavallee of Cardiff Golf and Country Club; and Craig Gibson and Rocco Ruschkowski of Sirocco Golf Club.
