Fort McMurray Golf Club down, but not out
In the wake of ‘the beast’, their clubhouse, halfway hut and a sizeable majority of their carts are no more; fenced off and covered in a healthy dose of tackfire. That has yet to impede their plan to reopen July 1, with their nine-hole expansion pushed back to a tentative date of Aug. 1.
Overseeing the revitalization, course superintendent Jeff Hacior and his staff have worked 10-16 hour days in order to get the course back to its original condition, if not a little bit better.
“I don’t think it’ll be hard,” said Hacior. “It’ll just take some time.
“Once this is all said and done, the place is going to be better than it ever was.” Click here to read the full article written by Robert Murray, Fort McMurray Today
