The top Players’ Tour and the top Overall money winners will face off Tuesday, September 3 and Wednesday, September 4th at the Canal at Delacour for the 2013 Tour Championship sponsored by Fletcher. Tee times will begin at 1:00pm on day one and 7:30am on day two. Click here to view the draw.
The following players were successful at the Champions Tour event qualifier held at Canyon Meadows G&CC on August 27th: JK Kim (-6), Tom Byrum (-4), Jim Carter (-4), David Rummells (-3) & Barry Lane (-2). These players will play for a purse of $2,000,000 beginning August 30th at Canyon Meadows G&CC. Scott Allred finished with a 1-under 70, while Darryl James shot a 74.

These players will move to the event qualifier to be held Tuesday August 27th at the Canyon Meadows G&CC.

Brett Burgeson (Country Hills GC) shot an impressive 5-under 67 today (137) to win the 2013 PGA of Alberta Club Car – Titleist FootJoy Championship today at the RiverBend GC. Mike Belbin (Royal Mayfair GC), Matt Freeman (Canyon Meadows G&CC) & Tim Sawatzky (Lynx Ridge GC) all finished one shot back at 6-under 138.
Matt Freeman (Canyon Meadows G&CC) shot a 7-under par 65 to take the lead in day one of the 2013 Club Car – Titleist FootJoy PGA of Alberta Championship. Tied for second place are Darryl James (National Golf Academy at Shaganappi) and Tim Sawatzky (Lynx Ridge GC) who both shot 6-under par 66. 26 players of the 100 person field shot under par. Scott Allred posted one of his best results this year alongside Jim Rutledge and Rod Spittle at the PGA of Canada Senior Championship.
After 4 months of matches, the north team of Mike Belbin and Jeff Cuthbertson will duke it out with the south team of Darryl James and Jamie Kureluk to see who will be the 2013 Team Match Play Champions. The final match will take place on September 19th at the Red Deer G&CC.
Chris Pacholok from the Royal Mayfair GC shot even par 70 at the Devon GC to claim 1st place at the final Golf Supply House Professional Series event of the season. Stony Plain's Chris Toth finished one stroke back. Three others were tied at 73.
Congratulations to Mike Johnston (Jasper Park Lodge GC) and Adam Lewis (Banff Springs GC) who passed their playing ability test today at Devon GC.
Blistering scores of 62 (Gross) and 60 (Net) at the Stony Plain GC by some of the province's best junior golfers highlighted action at the 2013 Callaway Golf Pro Junior held in Stony Plain. Drayton Valley professional Weston Gillett's 66 was good enough to claim the professional title.
Professionals and amateurs 50 and older are eligible to enter the pre-qualifier event being held at Camrose GC August 22nd. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, August 15th – 5:00pm MST for your chance to compete on an International stage.
Congratulations to Erin Martens (Windermere G&CC) and Kattereya Kennedy (Highwood G&CC) for being selected as this year's recipients of the 2013 PGA of Alberta Junior Scholarships. Each girl will receive a $1,500 scholarship towards their 2013 academics.

Mike Belbin (Royal Mayfair GC) followed a first round 68 with a 69 to finish at 7- under 137 and win the Cobra Puma Golf Assistants Championship held at Pine Hills GC by 3 shots over playing partner Garrett Jenkinson (Riverside Golf Academy). Tom Flockhart (Jasper Park Lodge GC) fell off the lead early but shot a respectable even par 144 to finish tied for third with Tyler LeBouthillier.

The front nine at Inglewood re-opens to the public today. Although there is still some evidence of the flood damage, Executive Professional Jason Stanier reported the tees and greens are in good condition, thanks in large part to countless hours of hard work by staff, members and volunteers. The cost for a nine-hole lap is $30 and the back nine at Inglewood will likely re-open in late August or early September.
The stage is set for the Shaw Charity Classic and Seven Players will join Fred Couples, Mark O'Meara and 73 Champions Tour Players at Canyon Meadows G&CC this fall. The PGA of Alberta recently announced that The Hamptons GC will host the Event Qualifier on August 27th.
