Jeff was born in Edmonton, AB but has spent most of his life in Calgary, AB. At the age of 10 Jeff began to caddie on weekends for his father. By the time he was 14 he had become an avid golf and a sponsored junior at the Calgary Elks Golf Club. Not wanting to leave the course at the end of the day, he landed a job in the back shop. Eventually he moved up to pro shop staff assistant, under Head Professional Neil Green and Assistant Professional Andy Black. As a junior member he became one of the top junior’s in the province, playing in city, provincial and national tournaments. Jeff took advantage of his schooling by taking a job in the oil & gas industry for 6 years. During these years, Jeff’s desire to get back to the golf industry intensified so in 1988, he took a position as an Assistant Professional with Head Professional Dave Clark at Shawnee Slopes Golf Club. He held this position for three years during which he made his first commitment to the Alberta PGA as the Director of the Assistant Professional Golf Tour. Since then Jeff has spent time at Silver Springs Golf & CC as the Head Assistant Professional, and he was also the first Head Professional at Wintergreen Golf & CC. Jeff’s career development continued as the first Head Professional at the Links of Gleneagles in Cochrane. During this time, Jeff represented the club as a member of the Canadian Society of Club Managers and also the National Golf Course Owners Association. Jeff made a career path change within the industry in 2000 when he started the Calgary Golf Academy (now known as the Riverside Golf Centre). This is an indoor facility in Northwest Calgary that he designed and managed construction of. It is at this golf centre that Jeff still maintains his golf teaching academy. Jeff lives in Calgary with his wife Tammy and son Michael, both who are also avid golfers. As a member of the Pinebrook Golf & CC and the AltaMesa Golf Club in Mesa, AZ., he has reignited his desire to play the game that brought him so much joy for the last 40+ years.
