Hello, Didn’t see you there... I am a free spirited person who has a great passion for teaching and playing the game of golf. From a very young age I knew what I wanted and was determined to become a Golf Teaching Professional. I am Bonnyville Alberta born and began swinging the club at the age of 5; however, my first experience golfing was unlike most others. My parents were not golfers and my Grandfathers old golf clubs were stored out in the garage. One day I decided to try them out and proceeded to hit 5Woods out of the back yard, over the highway and into the local business parking lots. being that young I had no idea what I was doing wrong when mom came out yelling for me to stop!! My two older brothers motivated me to continue my path along the road to a golfing career and if you talk with Kory he will be sure to tell you he can still whoop me on the course. I am very grateful for the mentors I have had in my life as they ALL deserve credit for where I am today. Thank you Ken Collar of Fort Macleod Golf Club and Randy Gallop of Bonnyville Golf Club for allowing me to loiter every single day in the golf shop. The late Jerry Roberts was a wizard with words and a great motivator for my young self. He taught me life lessons that I still pass on to my Juniors. These unforgettable people made it possible for me to follow my dreams and realize my goals of completing Post Secondary Education with a Bachelor of Management Degree. Evergreen Golf Centre will always be the birthplace of my Professional Career. Learning the Teaching side from Dean Spriddle and Cam Waldbauer and the Business side from Kevin Hamilton I will always owe my success to the strong knowledge base these professionals helped create for me. You will find out with one phone call to the Picture Butte Golf Pro Shop that I could be the friendliest guy you’ll ever meet. Ill be the one answering with the loud Helloooooo!
Q. What do you enjoy most about the game and the business of golf?
It makes everything worth while when I have a Member or Junior golfer come into the shop and say WoW!! Just shot my best round EVER!!
Q. What would you be doing if you weren’t a Golf Professional?
If I was not a Golf Professional I would be trying to be an Outrider for Chuckwagon Racing, or maybe a Highschool Math Teacher, or maybe a Professional Fishing Guide... Golf was at the top of this long list!
Q. What is your favourite golf course in the world?
One course that I try to play at least once a year is only a three hour drive from Lethbridge. The Wilderness Club in Eureka Montana holds a place in my heart.
Q. Who is your favourite PGA Tour player?
I was born and raised in the ERA of Tiger!!! Enough said...
Q. What is the first club you take out of your bag on the driving range?
Whether it is teaching a lesson or warming up for a round of golf I always pull out the 7Iron. This is influenced strongly by Roy McAvoy from the movie Tin Cup. If you ever find your 7Iron upside down in your bag it just means ZoobyGolf is one of your big
Q. What is the most number of holes of golf you have played in one day?
54 holes daily as a junior was pretty easy. Now that I am past my teens I try to restrict it to 18 Holes.
Q. What significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
I will always be most proud of passing my PAT tied for the lowest round in a torrential downpour day 2 with my Dad Walt Zubiak caddying for me!
