Early Bird Exhibitor Registration for the 2023 PGA of Alberta Buying Show is Now Open!
The PGA of Alberta would like to invite you and your company to attend this annual Show being hosted on October 17th – 19th at the Calgary BMO Centre. Take advantage of early bird exhibitor registration until June 30th!
Attendee Registration for PGA Members and Green Grass Facilities will open August 1st, 2023 at 10 AM.
The purpose of the Buying Show is to bring Golf Professionals, Equipment Manufacturers, and Sales Representatives all together in the same building, in order for them to prepare their inventories for the following season. Over the course of the three days, nearly 1,200 people gather from across the province, and country, to look at what’s new and exciting in the golf industry.

Nevin Thompson in Memoriam (1945-2023)
We are deeply saddened to announce the recent passing of Industry Member Nevin Thompson. He passed away last week at the age of 77 years. Nevin had a lengthy career as a Salesman and worked for Sunice / Bobby Jones for many years.

In the world of professional hockey, what plays out behind closed doors is just as important as what plays out on the ice itself. Former professional goaltender, Hockey Night in Canada broadcasterand NHL on Sportsnet analyst Kelly Hrudey will take us behind the scenes of his 15-year career with the NHL, sharing stories he lived from both inside and outside the locker room and work life balance while playing in the NHL. Kelly is an advocate for mental health awareness and has multiple foundations he represents to continue to spread the word and end the stigma.
This will be the last of five webinars produced by the assistants board with the intention of providing professional development for all assistants within the industry. This will produce an avenue for networking and relationship building so members can continue to further their careers.

Registration will open tomorrow, Friday, April 7th for the Seniors’ Division #1 Event at Lakeside GC just east of Calgary in Chestermere and is set for Tuesday, July 4thwith Tee Times starting at 9:00 AM.
Registration for the 2023 Play Ability Tests (PAT) is now open! Take note of the PAT schedule by clicking ’View Schedule’ below. There will be five PAT’S in total this season.
Be sure to pass this information on to anyone interested in becoming a member of the PGA of Canada at your facility! For more information on the steps to become a member, please refer to the PGA of Canada Membership Roadmap.
About the PAT
The PAT is standardized testing all Applicants must pass in order to be eligible to apply for membership. All prospective Applicants are required to register with the PGA of Canada prior to registering for a PAT in 2023. Once an application has been accepted, the PGA of Canada will notify the PGA of Alberta office that there is a new Applicant who will be attempting a PAT. The PAT’S are conducted by the Zones. Once an Applicants account has been verified on the PGA of Canada website, they will be able to register for PAT’S.
Prospective members must meet the following entrance requirements:
Upload a photo to prove you are 18 years of age or older (driver’s licence with the birth date visible) -click hereto upload.
Upload a reference letter from your employer/direct report -click hereto upload.
Upload a reference letter from a PGA of Canada Class “A” Member -click hereto upload(*if your direct report is both your employer and a PGA of Canada Class "A" Member, only one letter of reference is required).
Your employer/direct report will automatically be sent an email to verify your golf industry employment. They must click a button in that email to verify that you are employed at the facility indicated in the registration process.
