The 2022 edition of the Play Golf Alberta Junior Masters presented by Sundog Eyewear & TourTee is officially in the books. The championship turned into a one round event after yesterday’s round was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Winning her first Junior Masters title in the Girls’ Division was Eileen Park of Red Deer G&CC. Eileen played outstanding golf in the tough conditions today to shoot a 75 to win by two strokes. Finishing in second this year was Georgia Barr of Glencoe G&CC shooting a 77. Rounding out the top 3 was Aastha Savadatti of Canyon Meadows G&CC after firing a 79 to finish four back of the lead. Congratulations to the following winners of their respective Division:

  • 16 & Under - Eileen Park (Red Deer G&CC)

On the second playoff hole, Aneesh was able to make a clutch par putt to win the overall Boys’ Division. Srixon/Cleveland Golf Team Match Play Championship - South - Postponed

Today’s event at Sirocco GC - Srixon/Cleveland Golf Team Match Play Championship - South has unfortunately been cancelled due to the weather forecast and current conditions being experienced around the course and city.  This was a difficult decision  to make but with the nature of travel and distance being covered by some Members’ to come to the event, believe this decision was in the best interest of everyone.

Planning is underway on several different options now that the Qualifier/Seeding round has been cancelled and an update with the plan moving forward will be published and circulated next week to all Teams/Players registered for this event. A blind draw is being considered, as well as potential reschedule options that could work with considerations to the relatively short/condensed time frame to get matches in over a busy summer season. An update will be shared next week on the plan moving forward and we appreciate the continued patience and understanding.

Thank you to our Host Venue - Sirocco GC and our great Sponsors:

Numrich Nabs First G.S.H Title of Season at Desert Blume GC
Tournament News

Numrich Nabs First G.S.H Title of Season at Desert Blume GC

The first Golf Supply House event of the season at the beautiful Desert Blume GC is complete and didn’t disappoint. With score-able conditions, we saw some great scores on the Leaderboard today and had an exciting playoff conclusion! Albert Pistorius (Country Hills GC) & Grant Numrich (Red Deer G&CC) both carded excellent 4-under par 68’s to sit atop the Leaderboard after 18 holes and battled it out in our Playoff.

Grant Numrich is our first player in the winner’s circle this season after a stellar performance today and coming out on top in the Playoff which will feel like some redemption for him after coming up just short in the Playoff at last year’s Assistants’ Championship at Sirocco GC.

Starting his season off with an excellent round, Grant carded an excellent blemish free round of 68 with 4 Birdies on the card. Grant managed to stick his 2nd shot of the Playoff to within 1 foot of the hole and came out on top with a Birdie on the 1st Playoff hole in some blustery spring golf conditions.

Coming up just short in the Playoff but finishing in solo 2nd and also carding an excellent 4-under par 68 which included 5 Birdies and 1 Bogey. Albert hit a great 2nd shot on the Playoff but was unable to cash in on his approximately 10 foot Birdie look.

Finishing right behind our Leaders’ in a 7-way Tie for 3rd  who all carded great 3-under par 69’s today was the likes of: Justin Stoski (Lethbridge CC), Stefan Cox (Calgary G&CC), Kevin Black (Redwood Meadows G&CC), Jamie Gerlitz (Picture Butte GC), Keith Whitecotton (The Quarry) and Tyler LeBouthillier (GOLFTEC Calgary Beacon Heights).

Special thank you to our Host Facility: Desert Blume GC for helping put on an excellent event.
Special Thank you to our Sponsor: Golf Supply House who’s support helps make our Golf Supply House Series events happen.
