The Team Match Play Championship is one of the Associations premier events on the tournament schedule that lasts the entire duration of the season. The Championship will have an opening seeding round at the beginning of the season in the Edmonton and Calgary areas to determine team rankings for the round one bracket.
The PGA of Alberta runs one Pro-Junior event every year which consists of one Professional paired up with a Junior Golfer playing in a team net stableford format. The event features a maximum of 60 teams with a meal following the round.

Registration for the PGA of Canada’s National Award Ceremony, which will be conducted virtually on January 28th, 2021, at 5pm MST, is now open.
Traditionally held at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla., this year’s celebration will bring together industry members, media, and PGA professionals in a safe and engaging digital format to recognize the PGA of Canada’s National Award winners.
“This annual celebration has grown into one of the most anticipated events in Canadian golf, and this year will be no different,” said the association’s president Teejay Alderdice. “While we can’t be together physically, we look forward to connecting and recognizing the efforts of our members and greater industry virtually.”
Finalists for each award, including the newly created Warren Crosbie Community Leader of the Year Award, will be announced the first week of January. Winners will be revealed live during the awards show.
“We’re keeping everyone in suspense this year—even the finalists,” said Alderdice, adding “it should make for an exciting evening.”
Bob Weeks and Ian Leggatt are slated to return as co-hosts for the evening’s festivities.
Registration is now open and all members, industry professionals, media, family, and friends are encouraged to attend.

PGA of Alberta Announces Top 100 Professionals for 2020
The Association is proud to recognize the Top 100 PGA of Alberta Golf Professionals for 2020 as determined by the rankings in the Top 100 Programpresented by Foresight Sports Canada! The list below is the top 100 point earners for 2020 program year.
The Top 100 Program is based on a pre-determined measurable criteria designed to recognize Members who dedicate their time and demonstrate proven abilities in advancing the golf industry for the benefit of all Golf Professionals. The following areas where points are awarded are Education, Association initiatives, Tournaments and Volunteerism.

Award Winner... Congratulations to Chris Ward of the Edmonton Petroleum G&CC on winning this year’s Top 100 Award! Chris finished the program year with 104 points to win by just one point! It was a goal of Chris’ this year to win the Award and he accomplished that by increasing his point total by 56 overall compared to last year, going from T-19th in the standings in 2019 to winning the title.
